Let me just say, congratulations to the Las Vegas Bowl.

10-2 Utah vs 11-1 Boise State? This is a better match up than 2 of the BCS bowl games.

When you think best non-BCS bowl game, you think Gator Bowl, Cotton Bowl, you definitely don’t think Las Vegas Bowl. This will be the highest ranked teams to face off in the Las Vegas Bowl, which will be a welcome change from a BYU team ranked in the high teens verses a 7-5, 3rd best in the PAC-10 team.

With the Las Vegas Bowl being just 5-7 hours from most Ute fans, this should be a home game for the Utes.

Boise will no doubt be a little disappointed with the way their season turned out, losing a close OT game to in-conference rival Nevada. Utah also has much more to lose than Boise State, as they now own the longest active bowl win streak at 9, dating back to 1999.

Both Utah and Boise will be in positions next season to face each other in the Las Vegas Bowl again but with Boise State as Mountain West Conference champ and Utah as a member of the PAC-12.

You asked for this matchup by beating the cougs. I bet you’re glad to see Terrence Cain play one more game with the Utes. Are you going to the game?
